good luck with this one Buffy - it's quite the opposite problem of the one that I usually have so have no suggestions for you.
I'm poster here who struggles with shoes that fit - size 9 or a Wide fitting size 8.
I've found a shoe company that does good comfy (but attractive) shoes (can't post the link on here) - if anybody is interested please pm me, I'll pass on the details for their website.0 -
Shoes are an issue for me too - I'm 5 10 with size 8 feet (I can get away with a 7 in ballet pumps). My ankles and calves are skinny so boots are OK but I can't wear trainers at all - they are simply too heavy and make my calves ache! I also can't wear high heels as they make me taller than most of the people I work with! I live in my NEXT chunky brown leather boots or my Baratts silver ballet pumps/pointed flat black smart shoes. Oh for a heel!!
Buffy what I would do is nip into a proper Scholl or Clarks shop and ask for advice. Even if the remedy cost a few pounds more, there is nothing more important than looking after your feet (& eyes!)0 -
This isn't the answer to the OP but might be an answer to pigpen's problem: I have hugely wide feet, high insteps and short legs so that the fat bit of my calf comes where other people still have ankles. I had given up all hope of ever wearing boots again, but have now found an answer ( and NO I am not related, or on commission - was just SOOOO delighted at being able to wear boots again) I discovered by chance a shop called Duo boots, in Bath (and on inernet) who do boots in different calf sizes. I now have two pairs and LOVE them. (not cheap of course but are going to be worn for years and years as I love them so.......0

Hi Morganlefay. I tried Duo and had to send the boots back as they split at the sole after a couple of wears - I have been a bit dubious about buying from them since although I keep looking at the website as they look fab. Do you have heeled boots or flat ones?Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Hello Skintlass !
I've got one pair of very sturdy black suede, flat ones with sort of fake fur round top and down side a bit - last year's; a wonderful pair of VERY WIDE shocking pink medium high heeled shoes with little decoration thingie which clips on the front for added glam (they get a lot of attention !) and a fab pair of this year's, flat, dark green suede, a bit clumpy as I'm not a very high heeled person. I found that they are really nice people to deal with - did you send yours back and moan ?0 -
I would go with real leather insoles - they should "shrink" the size of the shoe a little and have the bonus that they're especially comfortable.
For those with large feet - take heart. I'm a size 10!!!! I get all my shoes from Special Feetures as they specialise in shoes for those with long or narrow feet. Sorry - not if you've especially wide feet though
Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac
