Mortgage with defaults

Hi everyone,
I'm after a bit of advice.
I'm hoping to get a mortgage in the next couple of months with my husband. I have no defaults or bad credit, no loans or HP and have quite a large deposit (approximately 30% of the house prices I'm looking at, from the sale of my previous house). My husband has 3 defaults (2 of which are unsettled). Two of the defaults are from November 2013 and the settled one is from November 2015.
Would we be able to get Help To Buy as some of the houses we like are new ones? Are there lenders out there who will lend to us? We are currently renting, but now his house has sold subject to contract so we'd like to buy something together.
Our joint income is £32,000
Thanks

Yes you will, to a purchase budget of no more than £200,000.

Why do you want to use Help to buy if you have a 30% deposit?

Hi thanks for replying, I wanted to use the Help To Buy to keep the mortgage payments lower. We are looking at getting a house for approximately £120,000 for an older house, but a new build would be about £150,000
Not sure whether we want a new house yet, but at the moment there's not a lot for sale where we live apart from a lot of new builds.0
