Remortgaging months in advance of Fix rate period ending

Hi all, would really appreciate any advice on whether any lenders will let me remortgage to them and lock-in their current interest rate for a new fixed rate deal, 6 months before the remortgaging actually takes place.
My circumstances are:
- 2 year fix with HSBC ends on 30 April 2018. Early repayment charge if I switch before that date is c£300 per month early (the current ERC is c£1800 as it is 6 months early).
- I would like to remortgage to a 3year fix rate deal.
- HSBC and Nationwide offered the best rates from the MSE comparison tool, but neither will let me lock in a mortgage rate/deal 6 months before.
- I was hoping to lock into a deal now to be effective in 6 months time, to avoid the risk that these good deals are withdrawn.
I wondered what your advice to me would be in this situation. In particular, whether there are any lenders that would let a new customer remortgaging from HSBC lock in a deal 6 months in advance?
Many thanks
Phil

If you were moving your mortgage offer would last x months so I do not see why that should not apply to a remortgage. If its not clear on the Bank's website email a few and ask.0

Plenty of lenders offer 6 month offer documents.
Speak to a broker to find out which lender can do so. The MSE comparison tool doesn't cover all available mortgages / lenders, so its best to speak to someone who is whole of marketI am a Mortgage Broker.

I was under the impression that HSBC do offer a six month period. Have you spoken to them to see what they can offer you as an existing customer? First Direct certainly offer six months, as they are part of HSBC.0

Pretty sure their retention policy kicks in at 3 months...I am a Mortgage Broker.

Thanks all for your thoughts. Going to see if a broker can get the best deal. Anyone know a good fee free broker? Ie one who takes commission from the lender rather than me?0

You are better off asking friends/ family.
Mortgage brokers on here are not allowed to advertise for business and I would avoid anyone who messages you privately but doesn't actually post on the forum.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks- may I ask why you think I should avoid anyone who messages me privately? Are they less likely to be a good broker?0

Many lenders will consider getting your remortgage deal in place as soon as your fixed rate ends in 6 months, and as some of the other threads suggest fee free mortgage brokers will know who is the best lender to go through, based on your requirements. We hope that we've been some help with this.“Official Company Representative

It is against the rules to solicit business on this website.
Broker give tips freely but should not approach you to offer their services.
Any Broker that either PM's you to offer their services, or offers their services direct on the Forum, is desperate for business, or not smart enough to have read the Forum rules, or both - hence they should be avoided.I am a Mortgage Broker
