'It's terrible moving up an age category.' blog discussion

Ha ha - I've always enjoyed a relatively youthful, energetic and invigorating field hockey career since my early teens. I may have even played with MSE a few times at school! But having moved house into a new county, and having joined a new hockey club this season, I find myself playing regular fixtures with the club's VETERANS team
Yep, the same demographic has found me as well - at 35 years and 5 months I am eligible to play in a team where the average age has shot up to about 50; the average speed has dropped by about 30%, and the aches, pains and recovery period have all doubled.

I should also mention that, as a market researcher, it's actually quite easy to redefine one's age.
No longer 35-44 years old, I am now in the 30-39 year old category. Surely age is just a state of mind?0 -
I am usually in the 25-34 group - which I kind like. But when you get the ones that state 30-39 i cringe - don't wanna be in the nasty 30's group - wanna be with the young and funky 20's still.
Ironically - I actually enjoy being in my 30's - ho hum.0 -
The worst was one that just had "over 35", as if 35 was the beginning of the end...Being brave is going after your dreams head on0
