Employer reduced my hourly rate while off sick

I was on long term sick and upon returning to work found my hourly rate reduced citing I was on the wrong pay scale. I have not had a new contract as apparently because my write was wrong they can change it without my permission.
I am currently claiming medical negligence through my Solicitors and have to provide them with loss of earnings. Will he not query why my contract is for £8.45 but upon returning my rate is now £8.33p/h??
Do I confront my employer as I’m not happy this has been done without my knowledge and without an alternative?

How long have you worked there?
How did the error occur? There's are such things as errors, and employers are allowed to correct them. But on this amount of information it is impossible to really give any advice worth having.
You never "confront" an employer. If you have a sound argument then there are processes you can use. Confrontation seldom works out well for the employee, and if you have had a lot of time off sick, you don't need any more negatives on your record.0
