House buying nightmare!

I have been in the process of buying a house for 6 months. It has come to light that the owner does not possess the rights to sell a section of her property as it belongs to a private housing association AND the Welsh assembly!!! No one can tell us how long it will take for the seller to acquire the land and we are just left in the unknown. Any advice or similar situations? TIA

Sorry but (stupidly) all the power rests with the seller. I've come across vendors who are so psychotic they get enjoyment out of having people round to see the property, put an offer in, get all the way to exchange and pull out. Because they can.

If your vendor hasn't been obtuse deliberately then you'll just have to ride it out and suffer any costs (unless you took out insurance against the costs).

Move on. Or at least start looking elsewhere.
