Aviva mistake

I received a letter this week from Aviva where I have Pension plan. It said "we carry out reviews of all the products we offer. In one such review, we identified a mistake with the value of your plan.
We should use the amounts you contribute to your pension to buy units in funds you tell us to. Unfortunately we have not always done this correctly."
It goes on about how if shouldn't have happened, we apologise for our mistake, reassure you we've taken action etc etc.
To correct your plan we have increased its value by £450.98.
How I can be sure other mistakes haven't been made, if £4 50 is correct, sufficient or share that value came from?
Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Write to Aviva and ask for a breakdown of how they came to that figure?0

Thanks, guess that makes sense. It is a big concern that a company like this can make mistakes.0

good luck getting any info,i tried this a while ago Aviva seem to be more happy for me to persue it through the ombudsman system0

I've had Allied Dunbar and Friends Life both make mistakes with my pensions in the past. It can and does happen. Good thing they alerted you, ask for an analysis and also ask them what they have done/are doing to ensure this doesn't happen again in the future. The Ombudsman is a course of action you can pursue if you aren't happy.
It's also worth understanding more so you can monitor your pension regularly and see if anything looks odd.0 -
You need to have contacted Aviva first and gone through their complaints procedure before going to the ombudsman though.
yep did that their response was "sorry cant help lost the info" and sent details to contact ombudsman to take it further (not a lot of point though if they cant/wont help you) they did send a cheque for £100 though :shocked:in for a penny0
