I use Morrisons. They charge 5p per bag but refund it when you give the bags back next time you have a delivery.Bulletproof0

I use big reusable bags or ikea type bags at the door then take through to the kitchen when they have gone!Living the simple life0

I use Tesco and as I pay for the delivery yearly I get a weekly shop. I don't get plastic bags and either:
a) get the tray put on a chair next to the table where I shove it all.
b) the trays get put at my front door and I ferry the shopping to the table/kitchen
I've never felt rushed, make small talk to the drivers who let my toddler 'sign' and always, always check my eggs carefully before I say goodbye!
If you are just starting online shopping then newbies often get money off their first shop - look for the vouchers and try the different websites/shops to see which fits you.

I just take the bags and put them on the floor near me by the door, then put everything away when the driver is gone. I don't like to feel hurried when putting my stuff away.0

I can't say I've ever felt hassled to speed up.
I expect he is right(in the companies policy). Many chances for damage/issues with delivering inside the property.
Perhaps he has had a previous issue.0 -
Sainsbobs charge a flat 40p fee regardless of the number of carrier bags. I don't have bags though and use foldable crates next to the door to transfer items from their crates to mine. Most of the drivers do this for me. As others have said, they are on a tight schedule so I don't like to hold them up but I've never felt I'm being hurried.
If there are any substitute items they are listed at the top of your receipt and the drivers always point these out so you can refuse them if you wish. On the rare occasion when something has mistakenly been left out of the order, a quick phone call to their customer service resolves the issue without argument. Any refunds due usually arrive back in your bank account within a couple of days.Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -
put crates or large containers on the floor by the door, everything can go into them quickly, then you can empty at leisure, when he/she has left. I use old trolley bags and a large freezer bag0

My mum has her laundry baskets ready by the door when the delivery arrives and transfers all the small stuff into that. Big stuff she dumps on the floor.
With mine, I unpack the bags as they go back to get the next batch, so usually have stuff scattered all over the floor and then deal with it when they're gone.0 -
