Yes it is difficult especially for those that don't have available help, however I appreciate this is not the employers fault. Its why my employer stopped allowing holidays for when kids are sick as it was deemed unfair as was only given to those with kids (again a valid point).
So whilst I agree it was wrong for the OP to be 'sick' when her child was, with no right to time off yourself and no available family/friends to help what are people suppose to do? Paid childcare will not take sick children.0
