SIPP Set up

Can I set up my own SIPP rather than go through a provider to avoid the fees and run it myself?

In a simple answer, no you can not.

SIPP providers are regulated. You are not. Most providers don't cost a lot in £ terms compared to the benefits.

You might be able to but it would cost a lot more than a normal SIPP to get the regulatory clearances.
