Over 50s insurance

I need some advice. Due to health conditions I am not going to get insured through the standard routes, and I want to top up existing insurance. I have been thinking of an over 50 (no medical required) insurance.

I understand that they are life only (no return unless I die) - But which is the best one to go for. Is there anything that I have missed on the site or in the forums?

All of them are pretty poor value. There may be no medical but they will exclude pre existing conditions and anything that could be linked to that condition. Plus the sum assured vs the premium paid is very poor. This is why you now see their crummy adverts have to say that you could end up paying more in premiums than the sum assured.

I wouldnt go as far to say they are a con but with the typical sum assured on these plans being low and the fact that a good many end up paying more in premiums than get paid out on death, I am not a fan of them.
