What effect if any would inflation have to date ?

Options
Hi

Could anyone answer this about a final salary scheme please.

I left the job 10 years ago and my policy says I will receive £14982 pa plus inflationary rise or maximum of 5% whichever is the lower when I am 58. Does anyone know what the inflationary rise over that 10 yrs would be and how much it would be worth now ?

Many thanks

Could you not get an up to date forecast from the pension administrator?

Do you mean that you had a deferred DB pension which was transferred into a S32/other insurance policy?

In which years did you work for the sponsor of the DB pension?

The DB pension was contracted out?
  • No sorry perhaps policy was the wrong word, they wrote to me a few years ago and asked if I'd like to transer the plan out to an insurer but I said no.

I worked for the company for 15 years from 1988 to 2003. I have no idea if it was contracted out but I imagine it would be if thats what a standard final salary scheme does.
