I know from past experience that margarines make nice cakes (no greasiness, unlike butter) but it’s I think it’s also harmful. PLRFD is spot on, IMO.Funny, it's what Mary Berry recommends rather than butter when making a Victoria sponge...I certainly use it all the time and the results are great.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
