Pension Fund

Options
Hi I currently have pension from my old employer which is now frozen and I am now paying into my new pension with my new employer but my question is what to do with my old pension do I leave it dormant or is it worth merging it with my new one?

    Are they both DC pensions?

If so, then you can compare the charges, range of funds etc of the two pensions and if the new one is better or the same ask your new employer to transfer in. If not, dont. You may find that your old employer subsidises the charges for current employees but not for those who have left.

The balance between merging and keeping the pensions separate is probably pretty marginal either way. Merging reduces any ongoing admin.
