I'm finding it very confusing trying to find out how to rent out a static caravan on my land as a holiday let.... short self catering breaks. I'm about to move to a very rural area and need to produce an income.....I know I will require planning as the static would have a kitchen but are there other requirements? ( obv. Fire alarms etc etc ) Anyone who already does this ... could you give me some info?

Getting planning permission could be the hardest part especially in a rural area. Smoke detectors are an excellent idea. Utility connections could be expensive but that is a one off expense, but you will need spare gas cylinder(s) safely stored.

Where to advertise will be the next big problem, or where to advertise successfully, so you might want to set up your own website or there may be an online holiday guide for the area which you can pay to be included.

You will of course have to declare any income to HMRC
