Council parking fine escalates

Sadly, just read yet another example of maladministration by a Council. It's a shame that residents seem to have to either refer the matter to the Ombudsman, their MP or the media in order to get the local authority to investigate properly:

The comments section shows that it's happened to many people and the high handed response from the council always assumes they are right and the little citizen must be mistaken.
The only saving grace is that on occasion residents issue proceedings against the council and enforce. One of my favourite episodes of Ch5's, 'Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away!' included High Court Enforcement Officers enforcing a Judgment against a Council. Needless to say, the bureaucrat on the desk said they couldn't come in, to which the agents said we have every right to and we'll be removing laptops and furniture unless immediate payment is made!

Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.
