Mortgage Credit Checks

Options
Hi all
My partner and I are currently in the process of applying for a mortgage.
We have used a broker and he submitted an application to Nationwide last week.
We have noticed on our credit reports that my partner has been credit searched by Nationwide (5 days ago), but I have not.
This seems a bit strange to us. Surely they would've conducted both of our credit checks at the same time?
My partner is the higher earner of the two of us, and I was previously made bankrupt (9 years ago - and I fully disclosed this to the broker). Would either of these two factors explain why my partner might've been credit checked and I still have not?
Can anyone think of any other reasons why only one of us would've been credit checked? Or is this quite normal?
I'm now worrying that they've looked at my bankruptcy and just thought "we wont bother credit checking him because we know we wont lend to him anyway". Although I've read many times that a bankruptcy as old as mine shouldn't really affect things (I now have a perfect credit report). And if it was a problem why would they bother checking my partner?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If its a joint application then both of you should have been credit checked at the same time. Just guessing but I would say you too have been credit checked but for whatever reason it hasn't filtered through to your visable report yet.

As above, a joint application dictates 2 x credit checks. I would expect yours will filter through in the coming days

Are you checking all three CRAs?

You don't know which one(s) Nationwide has used. It may be different in each case.

  • Hi. Yes, I've checked all three. My partner can see his search on both his Call Credit and his Equifax reports (not on Experian). Mine doesn't show on any of the 3

Did the bankruptcy involve Nationwide ? if so maybe that has something to do with it, if not maybe its a glitch that will sort itself and you too will be checked with
