Looking For New Mattress

I am a 6ft 2" single male and own a Kingsize bed which I bought used. After a year, the mattress is now sagging in places which is causing me back ache and pain. I want to replace the kingsize bed with a standard size single bed in order to have more space and save my back! I am looking at memory foam mattresses and white bed bases with storage. I want to buy new with a decent guarantee. Specific things:

- Memory Foam (Natural / plant based) not synthetic (Don't want potentially harmful chemicals coming out, bad odors and problems being too warm

- Firm or higher end of medium (I'm 16 stone and sleep on my back and sides. Don't want to sink in too much)

- Ok-good edge support

- 4.5lb or greater density.

Can I have some recommendations on mattresses and retailers? I am a member of Quidco and TopCashBack so if I could use these I will. My budget is around £500 but I will spend more if I have to. I heard good things about the EVE mattress.

I can't say how they work as a King Size version as I've only tried a Double Size but Ikea worked for me, I'm now looking to get a new mattress due to a bit of sagging and the mattress I'm looking to replace is over 13 years old.

Initially I looked at Ikea. I prefer a firm mattress, I can't say it's body weight related (apparently I'm underweight) it's just that I don't like when they are sooo soft, it's uncomfortable for me. I found and tried out a few (ok, all) of the mattresses in Ikea (two stores in case the ones I'd tried had been overly used in the stores they came from) and worked out the best one for me was around £500. I went to John Lewis and found a mattress also for £500 which I liked. Ikea charge for delivery, I don't think John Lewis do so it works out to pretty much the same for either. Both offer a guarantee but I get the feeling John Lewis will be easier to deal with if I do need any help with that.
Moral of the story? Look for a few different stores and brands, you may find what you want is cheaper or not as expensive in relation.

If you can though, I'd recommend visiting a store first to try out a mattress first. Yes you may find a shop floor version has been overly sat on (so ask the assistant if they know when it was first put on display). I was always told that if you can easily fit your flat hand between your lower back and the mattress then it's fine. But I have heard others disagree. I suppose it's what feels comfortable to you.
I did look at memory foam mattresses but I have issues which prevented me from thinking about a purchase; I was told by several people that they get too warm at night and I worry about this. Having been told otherwise from the makers (that in fact they employ a cooling material in the mattress) I then worry about getting too cool. I have an electric blanket but you cannot use one of those with a memory foam mattress.

If you can get to a John Lewis they have samples of both Tempur and Simba mattresses to try, there are other memory foam brands (Eve, Casper..etc) but I don't know if any other stores offer these to sample first.

I would also endorse an Ikea mattress. Previous new mattresses have taen me a couple of weeks to get use to but the Ikea one was bliss from the first night.

Thanks all for the comments. I done a lot of research and decided to get the EVE Mattress in EU Single size (10cm longer). I am now looking for a bedframe but it is difficult because of the extra length needed. I have a few bookmarked though!
