CII and Bloodstock insurance

Good evening everyone,
Just wanted to see if anyone on her has any advise. Im sick of my current role and have been trying to no avail to get into some form of insurance role since the start of the year. Ive now taken a step back to re-evaluate what im doing and how to proceed forward.
Im looking to go through CII and do both the certificate and diploma in insurance which i'm assuming will help me break into the industry at least? Or should i continue to focus on getting in any role and working my way from there?
My end goal is to aim for the bloodstock market with my love for the equine industry with previous qualifications in equine care. Im wondering if anyone on here that knows anything about niche markets will be able to advise me on whether i should aim to just get myself within the insurance industry to start with or proceed with upskilling myself with CII qualifications to then look at what trainee positions are around when ive finished to try and get into bloodstock straight away?
Im thinking about asking to shadow or something similar for people in insurance (my dad as well as a couple family friends are brokers) next year whilst taking myself through CII to give me something to show in terms of actually getting involved within the job role.
Or if any of this is even worth it or possible to do? Absolutely any advise welcome and i will take everything on board. I feel like this is a mountain climb prospect as no entry level positions will replace my current salary without asking for some form of degree which I don't have.

My advice would be to get an entry level insurance job and then get the qualifications whilst you're there. Most decent companies will pay the costs, including time set aside for study.
With regards the bloodstock sector, there are very few markets/specialist brokers. Do you live within commuting distance &/or would you be prepared to move?
Liking horses has very little to do with this also. Insurance is insurance.0 -
Ok disregard bloodstock entirely, I’m having a hard time trying to break into the insurance industry as a whole looking for entry level positions otherwise I would have just gone for that and let the company pay for the qualifications.
Every entry level job I can find is looking for degree graduates which is something I don’t have which is why I’m looking to do the qualifications separately. Do you think this will help me get an entry level job?
I’m within commuting distance from London however relocating from the south east isn’t an option.0 -
Perhaps try to get in with a broker firstly. I seem to remember the exams/qualifications offered more in the motor specialism, the quaint offices, even found more on a little village high street.
Whilst these ad's are aged, there are loads of ideal start jobs in East Anglia so keep looking (forgive some aspects of 'lovejoy' country! all these for instance are on a train line)
