I once bounced a monster cheque with them (for £175k) in error ... they were really decent about it, we laughed ...and there was no charge. So they must "listen" and resolve problems with a human face.

Was that with Santander bank? That's good to hear.
It's a shame that you can't apply for a remortgage online. It's all over the phone. I really don't like that. So much can be misspelt and mistyped over the phone.
