Does a pension stop if you are in hospital longer than 6 weeks?

A friend of mine has heard that as her husband is in hospital at the moment his pension may be stopped after 6 weeks. Is this true? I read somewhere that it would be reduced after 52 weeks but cannot find where i saw that information.
It looks like he may be in for around 6-8 weeks so any information would be great so i can pass it on and hopefully stop them both from worrying. If there are any sites you could point me in the direction of i could print it for her too.
He is 75 and she is a few years younger, both retired and receiving a pension.
Many thanks

It's not true. the state pension continues to be paid during a stay in hospital, as does any occupational pension.
It's possible other benefits may be affected though - if they are getting any they would need to check.
At one time the state pension was stopped after a certain time in hospital - but this was changed a year or so back. So there is (or rather was) some truth in what she/you heard.

Thats good news then, thanks for your help.
They both receive a pension but no other benefits as far as i'm aware. I'll mention it to her just incase.
At least its one thing she can stop worrying about.0 -
