Carrying over annual leave?

Ok folks I ran this by Acas. Yes 8 days can be carried over but it comes diwn to agreement as I thought. You can not be forced to carry over the 8 days
I'd suggest most posters on here are more knowledgeable than the ACAS helpline team
Jan to Dec
Does the 8 days include the bank holidays? That would be at least two this year, where presumably all would be off?0 -
How many does this affect?
This issue would be a good union organising opportunity.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Even if that is correct (and at the basic helpline level it may well not be) the employer can still totally dictate when you must take your holiday. So, if that is correct and you push the point, you may well end up being forced to take those days when you would least want to.
Taken literally they can give you two days notice to take a day's holiday so, for example, you could be told on a Monday evening that you are on holiday on Thursday.0 -

These holidays are scheduled for Christmas. What happened last time was 1 day before they were due to take them he cancelled them. On December 22. No notice given0 -
Collectively what did you do about the situation?
You need to organise yourselves or change is unlikely.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
