Thank you to everyone for their kind and useful comments.
At the moment I can’t get my head around filling in the SOA.
The 30.000 of debt is owed between different loan companies not one particular bank, consolidation loans made things worse.
The money went on keeping an alcoholic son with a roof over his head paying rent/deposits/food etc getting him out of one mess after another.
I’m not sure DMP would work given my age.
I considered selling house and equity release but that would be so unfair on my husband why should he lose his home due to my foolishness.
Probably I will just continue with token payments.0 -

For the cost of recorded delivery an a £1 postal order per creditor, it is worth a punt.
If you're going to send a £1 postal order you might as well do a formal cca request as long as these are consumer credit act debts which, if they are loans they would be.Thank you to everyone for their kind and useful comments.

It's impossible for us to give proper advice on partial information. But you should realise that in equity release you do not lose your house. It does, however, mean that there is less equity for you to eventually pass on to your beneficiaries.
For many of my older clients it's a useful strategy.
Token offers generally is not useful on its own unless it's part of a bigger strategy0
