Having failed in autorolment, I’ll try here.
“My company has 27 employees. I started with them on April 24th this year.
I have had a hard time getting a satisfactory answer off my employer as to why I have not been enrolled. Others have told me that there was a bit of 'disincentive' to joining, mainly along the lines of how hard it would be to give a pay rise.
I have also been told that I should have 'opted in'. I understand I can opt out, but that I am under no obligation to opt in; am I right? I thought auto enrolment does what it says on the tin.
Something that puzzles me is the April 2nd 2017 start date, and January 2018 date. It isn't clear if they are obliged to enrol me, or if I need to wait.”

From memory if you are between 22 and state pension age and earning more than £10k pa then you should have been auto enrolled July 24th at the latest (if you started on the 24th of April, but you also mention the 2nd?). They can only delay your auto-enrolment by up to three months I believe (to allow for some probationary period).
Any disincentive to join would be unlawful.Temrael
Don't use a long word when a diminutive one will suffice.0 -
If you know your PAYE tax reference (which would have been on your P60 if you had been employed at 5 April) then you can use this site to check your employers staging date
http://www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk/employers/staging-date.aspx
One of your colleagues should be able to let you have it the reference from their P60.0 -

It sounds to me like your employer is in breech of the regualtions.0

Made me smile at the thought of the ribald connotations.:)0
