Got mine from a post of HDUK too.
  • Hi all, I'm just looking for a bit of advice, I've bought my DD a Wii for her birthday next month and have got a couple of games (on sale at Zavvi!) and just wondered what else I need? Do I need an extra remote and a docking station or can these be optional? Without sounding like my Nan - what is a Nunchuck?! :o Do I need one of these too?

    Many thanks in advance :)

You will have received 1 remote and 1 nunchuck with your wii (nunchuck is what you use to box - you attach it to the remote) . You will only need extra remote/nunchuck if your DD wants to play with people. If it will only be her playing it, i wouldn't bother getting one just yet.
If dogs don't go to heaven, then I want to go where they go. :A

    Hi

Nothing you mention is essential, just depends on usage.

Extra wii-mote - required for many two player games (such as wii sports tennis). All games can operate with just one remote but then you are usually playing against the wii - not a friend

Docking station - good for wii-motes especially if they also charge the wii-mote - saves on batteries, but again not essential

Nunchuck - extention to wiimote, cable connects the two. You get one with the wii - it is used on boxing so you 'punch' with both controllers (wii-mote and nunchuck) - one in each hand. Other games also use it, such as Mario & Sonic Olympics and Mario Kart. Again not essential, but if you do decide to get a second wii-mote it is worth considering depending on the games you have.

    Hope that helps :-)
  • It helps a lot Aidy, thank you! :)
