Pet faeces stains out of carpet?

Hey guys hopefully this is the best place for this, noticed another query on stains was put in this sub-forum ages back.

So unfortunately a new rescue cat has some digestive issues which has resulted in multiple diarrhea stains on light biege carpets...sigh.

I've tried a enzyme based pet stain remover, which works on tiny spots but doesn't quite do it on larger liquid deposits. Also tried 1001 troubleshooter, a combination of one after the other deals with most but there is still some discoloration.

I was thinking of trying it old school with white vinegar/bicarb of soda/hydrogen peroxide.

However what I read online seems to contradict about the best method to be using, what solutions to make up etc. So has anyone used any of the above or a combination to get out fecal stains which are a day or so old?

No good news from me I'm afraid, I ended up removing the stain but also the ingrained carpet grime, so was left with light blotches instead of dark blotches.
If you have a google around for human (I mean like babies, obviously) or dog poop cleaning, does that increase the results?

Have you tried a simple detergent like washing up liquid? Some faeces are quite oily (I work with animals, gross things are sort of normal).

Dr Beckmann's carpet cleaner amazed me when it came to red wine stains, even when dry. It should work on 'other' stains.

Sorry it might be too late. I find the best thing for carpets is a solution of bio washing powder and water. About a tablespoon of washing powder to half a bucket of water. You want your water hot enough to dissolve the power then cool it down so it is just warm.

If there are lots of stains over a big area you are going to have to bite the bullet and hire a carpet cleaner but for spot cleaning this is what I do.

Gently work the washing powder solution into the carpet stain with a clean cloth then follow with some clean water. Dont overwet the carpet.

Then the most important bit. A couple of pieces of kitchen roll, followed by an old towel and something heavy to weight it down. This draws the dirty liquid out of the carpet - you will be amazed what comes out. Leave it overnight then let the carpet air dry. If the carpet is still damp or you are worried about smells you can sprinkle over some talcum powder at this stage and leave for a few hours then vacuum up.

I have had success over the years with cola, blood and vomit stains with this method. Can also be used on upholstery and mattresses too.
