Do EA games ask you to verify your email address when you open a new account?
I received a 'welcome to EA games' email yesterday sent to an email account I don't often use. The problem is that I didn't open an EA games account yesterday.
The only sensible explanation is that someone else has opened an account and set it up on my email address. I tried to phone EA support to ask what to do but I'm not sure I was able to explain the problem properly.
I could change the password and look at the details to see if there is some way it is linked to me - maybe it's linked to something I've done a long time ago and forgotten - but obviously if I do that I'm potentially compromising the other person's privacy and locking them out of the account.
The only other thing I can do is to request EA to delete the account. EA help told me that there were no games on that account. If I delete it will it cause problems for the other person?
I'm not sure what to do for the best.

Why you bothered about the other person if said person exists.
Have you tried logging in ?
As you have access to the account change the password.0
