COPE after April 2016

Curious to know is there any pro rata on the added amount per week before your state pension kicks in, or is it only a complete year that counts? My SP will start in the month of March, so will the eleven months before be a wasted time?

Provided you have earned more than the minimum during the year (something like £5700) the whole year should count.

Are you sure because I'm not. If SPA is in one year then any payments in that year don't count. Let us await the experts which may not be until Monday.

I think it's slightly complicated, so if you earned that in one week you wouldn't qualify, I think it's something like earned over a quarter.

However if you accrue in the final year which means you are due pension before April then I think that year may not qualify at all.
