Hello everyone i am coming to the end of my fixed year plan with halifax. I am finding they are very expensive so i am looking at moving to nationwide. I have never moved to another lender before so i have a few questions. They tell me my only fee would be a solicitor fee, how does the use of a solicitor work? Do i have to use my own or theres and roughly how much do they charge?
Would really appreciate some help

Some lenders when you move to them appoint a solicitor at their cost to handle the legal work for you.
Nationwide provide you with a cash sum to cover a solicitor you appoint yourself.I am a Mortgage Broker

It depends on the lender and the product. Some lenders have products where they will pay the solicitor fees and you won't have to. It's best that you ask these questions to the lender.0

I recently switched to nationwide which was a really easy process.
You complete a questionnaire for the solicitor which should all be easy to fill in.
I had to pay £150 additional fees as it was a leasehold flat.0 -

That is good to hear. Nice to hear that it was a simple process as nationwide have some really good deals.0
