Hello,

I am thinking of switching mortgage providers on my final year of the deal. However, in the comparison sites a value of the property is needed. I have used zoopla but not sure the value is an accurate figure.

Are there any other websites which show accurate figures? in addition, do people use mortgage brokers or do they do it on their own?

No Zoopla is not accurate (we had a remortgage this week which Zoopla suggested was £630,000 and come in at £500,000).

The only accurate (read ' relevant') figure for this purpose is the one your chosen lender comes up with. The trick is to get a figure that is in the ball park.

Whether you do it yourself depends on your confidence and knowledge.

Just ask a few estate agents as they dont charge for valuations.
