Mortgage application taking ages

Wondered if anyone could help please. We’ve gone for a shared ownership mortgage on a newbuild with Barclays. The broker found us a good deal with Barclays, 5 weeks ago application was submitted. We had to speak to the surveyors ourselves as it was a nightmare just to get the valuation booked, e surv who they use kept saying they couldn’t get hold of site manager but we could! Got it sorted eventually and now it’s 2 weeks since valuation. In the end we called Barclays yesterday and spoke to the underwriting dept in India yesterday, they said all they are waiting on is that the surveyor has put the wrong share amount down, god knows how but we told them the percentage and now that’s fine but now they are saying that they need to know who owns the solar panels on the house!? We found out it will be us and Barclays said they need us to write in to confirm this? Our broker isn’t doing a great deal as each day we chase it’s the same story. Any advice? Should we just write to Barclays and confirm about the solar panels as this is literally all we are waiting on before we get our offer. It’s just been dragged out for too long now to get this offer. Thank you
