Inland Revenue & 65 age registration

A few years ago, I'm sure I heard on a radio programme (probably one of the Money-boxes) that pensioners coming up to 65 should inform the inland revenue of the fact about a year in advance. Naturally I paid very little attention to this then but, here I am knocking 64 and my memory started giving little jabs. Does anyone have any idea of what I'm talking about?

They usually contact you first, if youve not heard anything within 6 months of retiring, it wont hurt to contact them0
