Hi,
Does anyone know of any goods shops/websites which sell decent christmas wrapping paper and bows etc at low costs?
I hate having to spend a fortune on decent wrapping paper!

I have a real thing about wrapping gifts - very sad - but you can make something look fantastically more expensive by wrapping it decently.
Try going traditional and getting brown paper - sold for 79p in Ikea (big roll) also in post offices. Use natural brown string or raffia and/or decorate with tartan ribbon.
Go to your local habidashery store/ fabric store and by a bag of offcut ribbons and use them to tie.
My theme for this year is brown paper with string - and silver bells bought for about 5p each from ebay. Also tartan ribbon and offcuts or leather cut into heart shapes and threaded onto the brown string.
Much more creative, original and appreciated more too - of course for the kids - just buy cheapo stuff - they really dont give a fig!
Happy wrapping0 -
My dad used to wrap all our presents up with newspaper as he said it was only going to go on the fire!!! He was so right!
It's funny and always used to make us laugh, and we still talk about it now.

I thought this was a great idea posted by Moanymoany for cheap, gift bags that the kids could help make and you could personalise, (Primark give nice brown paper bags.)
Materials Needed:- Brown paper grocery bag
- Scraps of christmas wrap
- Glue
- Twine
I thought of this project because I have 9 grandchildren coming over and we exchange gifts amongst the Aunts and Uncles also. I thought this idea would be great to keep everyone's gift separate and not all mixed up with others. I took a brown shopping bag and folded the top down twice (inside) making like a hem. I punched two holes on each side in the hem for the twine handles. Some bags have store names on so what I did than was to cover that area with Christmas wrapping paper. I cut out pictures on the wrapping paper in different sizes and shapes and glued than in different areas on the bag. zSB(3,3)
I marked the child's name on the bag. This is one way to use wrapping paper that is small or left over from wrapping other gifts. So don't throw away paper, even after opening gifts. That would be great for other occasions also. The paper is so pretty so why waste it..Right? That is a great way to recycle paper and you have a nice looking bag for the kids to enjoy.
For other ideas the site she recommended was
