I've just found an unopened block of Saxby's Dessert pastry in the back of my fridge and am shocked to see the use by date is 29th Jul. Oops - not sure what happened there. I regularly check my fridge for icky stuff, but it was hiding behind some long life jars on the top shelf so evaded my inspections
Do you think it would be ok to use? Has anyone else done this and lived to tell the tale? It's never been opened and always stored in the fridge below five degrees.
[sigh] I do hate throwing food out.

I think the only way you will know is to open it. Look, smell and texture will be the best indicator.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Hehehe. Oh dear. I was going to say " personally I wouldn't risk it at 3 months out of date because I don't think that combination of ingredients would stay stable for that long even in a well kept fridge .. " You never know, that mould might have been the cure for some very nasty and obscure disease !" Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0
