I can't find a news link, but Picture Finance have been fined by the Advertising Standards Agency over their TV advert: the borrow £25K (and, if you catch the small print, repay £43+) one.

Its a pity it wasn't the FSA, but we live in hope.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

  • Thanks. No mention of them being fined, unfortunately. £25K, payable as one of their loans, would have been poetic justice.

Really pleased this advert has been banned (although it seems to be only the one with the lost trainers). Here's a link to the ASA's full adjudication.

It was the "light hearted" tone of the ad' that the ASA objected to, not the fact that it should have advised you to (as I usually ranted at the screen) "get a 0% balance transfer credit card!"

Anyway, evenings will be so much more serene in the Leak household from now on ...

  • Seriously, that advert alone saved me £200.

My TV in the kitchen died prematurely, these adverts and that scoooooterrrrrr woman drove me to distraction. So I bought a Digital Radio instead. Now Josh can find his trainers on his own. Ha ha good old ASA
