NHS Overcharged? dentist check-up

Hello,
Today I registered to the new dental clinic and had my first dental check up in UK.
I am NHS patient and of course I told about it the receptionists, my dentist and filled documents.

I obtained examination, diagnosis, advice, treatment plan and X-ray which is included in NHS band 1. No procedures were performed on my teeth.
After really nice check up I was charged by receptionist £56,3, which is the charge for NHS band 2.

I think i should have been charged for band 1, can you please explain if I am wrong? Is there any possibility to get a refund for overcharge?
I know I should have reacted before I payed, I was just really happy with my dentist I just didn't think. After all I feel like I overpayed and feel confused...

You said you got a ‘treatment plan’?

Is there treatment to return for? They might have just charged you for that in advance?

If there was no treatment required, you might have been overcharged. Ring them up & check.

You would normally only get a treatment plan if you need band 2 or 3 treatment. The surgery is entitled to ask for payment upfront for the whole cost of treatment. Presumably you have an appointment to return for treatment?

If not , if you had extensive tartar and needed a more thorough scaling , this may have brought you into a band two charge. It will be detailed on your treatment plan what you have been charged for.
