Hi all,
My partner and I are looking to buy our first home. We've found a house we love and have 10% deposit.
My partner hasn't got a great credit history. She has a default dated November 11 which hasn't been paid, should we clear this ASAP? Will the debt drop off her credit file in November as it's been 6 years? The default is for about 1200, but has just been passed on to Dryden (?).
My credit history is clean.
A few questions:
Are we likely to get a Mortgage?
Should the debt be cleared ASAP?
Will it be removed from her Credit file in November?
Are we better waiting until November to apply for a mortgage to give us better chance of being accepted?
Thanks

If you satisfy it or wait for it to drop off, you are going to stand a better chance of getting your Mortgage on the high street.
You do not really give much information. At 95% LTV your options are going to be slim. At 85% you are going to have a handful of options.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
