Mortgage on 1930's timber framed bungalow

Hi all.

If anyone has had experience of getting a mortgage on a property as described above can you please share?

We found a broker who has put in our application with Santander as they said they would consider such a property subject to valuation.

The valuation took place yesterday and so we are having an agonising wait over the weekend to see what the surveyors comments were etc.

The bungalow is in good condition with no obvious signs of damp in our opinion. It was built in 1935 I think, had insulation and external wooden cladding applied in the late 1980's. Has a tiled roof and brick foundations. Never had a mortgage previously as was bought outright in 80's but has never had trouble getting insurance.

Anyone been in similar scenario with Santandar or any other lender? Did you get a decision quickly? Are there any other lenders you know of who would consider such a property?

Thanks in advance!
