Hi,
I’ve been working really hard to pay offa number of debts this year and have reduced my creditors from 13 to 5.
Today I paid off my penultimate default which still leaves me with a defaulted credit card of 2.2k. This particular debt is 6 years old from mid next year and although I have paid £600 off the last few months I want to ask what will happen when it becomes 6 years old in 2028?
I feel it would be better to pay off my up to date debts if this will clear from my credit file in a few months?

Hi,
Nothing will happen.
It may fall off your credit file, but the money is still owed.
It wont become statute barred then either, as you have made recent payments to it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
