DC agrees statute barred but still calling

Hi there
Looking for advice on what I could do next.
PRA Group are chasing me for an old debt which is statute barred. They have written to me and confirmed it is statute barred but say this does not stop them calling me and chasing payment, albeit they agree it is not enforceable. I used the standard stepchange letter which includes the FCA guidelines that they should not continue to contact a debtor once it has been statute barred.
Any advice on how to get them to stop calling me? I've blocked the number but they keep leaving voicemails from their automated dialler.
TIA

This is a clear breach of the FCA rules. Make a formal complaint here mailto:IandEMailbox@fca.org.uk0

Hi GeoffSpar8,
This is quite a clear case of harassment. You should make a written formal complaint and quote the FCA guidelines (from the Consumer Credit Sourcebook): -
"...a firm must not attempt to recover a statute barred debt in England, Wales or Northern Ireland if the lender or owner has not been in contact with the customer during the limitation period." 7.15.4
"A firm must not continue to demand payment from a customer after the customer has stated that he will not be paying the debt because it is statute barred." 7.15.8
If they continue to chase you for the money after the harassment notice you can go to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
