Derby - Free Parking Nr Railway Station???

Hi

Anybody know of free parking near Derby Main Railway Station, I am taking the train to Gatwick from Derby and will be away for just over 2 weeks,

Paying to park in the station car park will cost an arm and both legs!.

Anyone with local knowledge know of any streets with free parking within easy walking distance of the station,

Car is only an old T Reg Scenic so not likely to be targeted in any way (Often leave it for 2 weeks at a time nr Tube Station in North London and never had any problems whilst away).

So if anyone can think of streets in the area where parking is unrestricted I would appreciate it.

i dont know of any streets with free parking near the railway station, but if your prepared to walk about a mile you can park next to the area adjouning Arboretum park. but be careful, i would not leave my car for that period of time.
why dont you post a request for anybody living near by, and do a deal to park on there drive, or infront of their house?? good luck.

Managed to park Free at a Hotel near the station, they have barriers on the exit, but gave us a token so we could get out, and were happy for us to park there hoping we would use the hotel in the future,

Good Service will not be forgotten. :beer:
