Last time I was looking for work (4 years ago) I had no problem. The only thing that's changed is my age. Some industries just don't want to hire older people - I know it's illegal but that doesn't stop them! It's a real problem. And I won't get my pension until 66.

Stick at it Felix, I am only a year younger than you, and it took ages for me to get a job, and then two came along at once, forcing me to choose.
I agree it is very difficult, particularly when you get to interview and the attitude seems to change when they see you.
