IVA advice needed please

Hi, I entered into an IVA in 2007. In 2008 I couldn't manage the repayments, contacted the company and they wrote to me telling me my IVA was no longer valid and that the debtors would be informed and I was responsible for sorting out the debts. This was done and I am now in the position of applying for a mortgage. My credit rating is good, I have used credit cards to improve my rating and have worked to save a decent deposit. On the application it asks 'have you ever had an IVA?'. I am not sure how to answer based on the fact it was cancelled. There is nothing noted on my credit file as I have checked regularly the last few years. Thank you.
