My nan used to make a cake she called golden syrup cake but I never got the recipe. Has anyone got the recipe because I would love to try making it myself.

    There's one in the We'll Meet Again cookery book, which could very well be the one, or similar to the one your nan cooked. I'll have a look and post it tomorrow.

    I had a look on the Lyles golden syrup website and they have a recipe for Golden Harvest Cake. Is that the sort of cake you're looking for?

    I did have a look there when I googled "golden syrup cake" but I'd really like a loaf cake like the Lyle's Golden syrup cake that you can buy.

    But I might just give that one a go.

    Here's the recipe from We'll Eat Again by Marguerite Patten http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=5545211&postcount=208 I thought it was very good and it held up well in my kid's lunchboxes ;)
