Hi - I posted in May/June re stopping my DMP with Stepchange and CCA ing re my debts. I have received replies back re most of the debts but I am now unsure what to do.
I have not yet advised them that I am going self managed but need to do so as I am starting to get a lot of phone calls. Some of them are for debts in husbands name but he gets so stressed out about them that I need to write and advise what is happening.
Quite a few seem to have sent back correct proof and some (luckily some big ones) have advised they cannot send me proof.
So I wish to send the ones who have sent back docs an income and expenditure form but what do I do about the ones that at present cannot be enforced but may be at a later stage. Do I include them on the form?
We were managing quite a large monthly payment via Stepchange which is now totally unachievable. I really would like to just offer a token amount to the ones that sent docs so that in future F and F's can be offered and hopefully agreed on.
Any links to templates would be great or advice on how to word the letter re including or not including all debts on the form.
Thanks

First: Book an appointment with a debt specialist at the CAB. Take the CCA replies there as just because they've replied, doesn't mean the paperwork is valid. It is important to make sure that these are verified otherwise you'd be paying for nothing.
After that, there is no need for you to send an I&E without being asked. Just offer your token payments and see what happens. Remember that token payments are not any security against litigation. If the offers are rejected, the creditors who can enforce their debts, may well use that right.
Your partner is right that you need to get in contact to advise a self managed DMP ASAP. Any periods of non contact can push a creditor into litigation as it gives them extra leverage to get your head out of the sand as they may think that's you may be doing.
Tell those who cannot find the CCA paperwork that their debts are a complete non priority as you have debts that can be enforced, and remind them that they cannot take legal action without enforceable paperwork.
