Please....
fell over at work a week ago. My 'fault' as I was fishing something out of a skip/not part of my job. Went to hospital 2 days later - broken rib. No better now. Have kept Agency and 'Employer' informed. "We want you back". Hospital gave me a self/cert form. No Drs appointment til 3/10.
Q. Do I give self cert form to Agency?
Q. Do I get paid (by Agency or Govt.) for Stat sick pay ? How long.
Q. Do I need a Drs cert? (before 3/10?)

Accident on 19/9 at work. First day off 20/9

From Agency handbook

"If you are absent from work due to sickness or injury the following rules apply: Whenever possible, you, or someone on your behalf, must notify TBC by telephone to givedetails of your absence at least one hour prior to the commencement of your shift. You muststate the reason for absence and the date on which you expect to return. A self-certification certificate must be completed by you and returned to TBC on the day ofyour return to work to cover all periods of absence up to and including seven days (includingSaturdays and Sundays). After seven days of continuous absence, a doctor's certificate (sick note or Statement ofAbsence form) must be sent as soon as possible to TBC. Further certificates will be requiredto cover the total period of absence. It is your responsibility to keep TBC informed about yourprogress and your likely date of return. Failure to supply the necessary certificates may resultin non-payment of sick pay.Statutory Sick PayProvided you notify us as above, your earnings are high enough and you qualify, you will be paidSSP in accordance with current legislation and at the current rate. You will be entitled to SSP if you are incapable of working for more than 4 consecutive days.  A medical certificate must support any absence from work immediately preceding orsubsequent to holiday or if you are absent for more than 7 consecutive days."

Days, includes weekends ?
If 'Employer' says "we dont want him if he cant work", then Agency will still pay me sick pay ? Well, not Agency, but Govt.... Confused on this.
Any help appreciated

  • If you are not working for the employer then you are not in work any more so i dont see how the agency or govt would pay you ssp.
