miles wont be much in an old car. But on newer cars they are scary, DPF, DMF, all sorts of cam issues on VAG diesels.
Buying a car woth those mileages I would expect a few expensive repair bills. The going rate used on a car like this is £4500. The prices you're looking at are trade sellers.
Private sellers sell for a lot less.0 -
I wouldn;t SORN the car though, keep it and enjoy it. Being a phd means that you need to be frugal, nothing more moneysaving than a TDI to go on cheap trips around the country.0

A VT on a car of that value is just not worth doing in my opinion.
No matter how desperate your situation is (i'm not sure - but most people need a car anyway).
Find a way to pay for it and buy it outright/keep it.
Then you can sell or keep it.0
