For DH’s glasses, I recommend a website called Glasses Direct. Their glasses are quite affordable and constantly on BOGOF or Buy One Get 2nd Half Price deals, and they do varifocals as well. I have a strong prescription and once got four pairs of glasses (two “regular” specs and two sunglasses) for £60 plus postage by using multiple deals, which they also allow you to do.

I’m not affiliated with them in any way, promise! :P but would recommend DH takes a look. If he prefers to try on his specs before purchase, he can order up to four at a time for trying on. £500 is shocking, the most expensive pair I’ve ever owned were £125 and those were designer
I also agree with Daisy here, having the money upfront to make bulk purchases or pay a bill annually to save regular outgoings makes the world of difference, but it’s getting that money in the first place. I’m so pleased for you and the difference that this PPI will make is amazing.0 -
Another delurker here to congratulate you on your PPI refund.
Just to say I have paid hundreds on glasses in past similar to your husband and last year broke my very expensive ones, Someone on here mentioned ASDA. opticians, and as I was so skint at the time I went to investigate..... £44.00!!!!!!! I nearly fell of the chair lol!!! yes!!!! with the frames and varifocal lens and coating etc. And with the frames I preferred I just took my prescription in with me. Just check at ASDA first to what they need on the note, I remember having to get opticians to print me a paper one out for some reason
and glasses they are still going strong. Its worth a try. Good luckM&S 2,200.00

Today the sun is actually shining, I haven't seen that for a long time, and the wind has finally dropped :T.
We've decided not to work on my business today because DH and I both feel tired. Instead I want to iron a pile of tops because I'm fed up with wearing the same ones. I've already washed and hung up some laundry to dry.
DH also popped our to our nearest supermarket to get eccinacea tablets and some wooden clothes hangers (we both hate plastic hangers and like all our hangers to match. A bit OCD ). The hangers are normally £2 for a four pack, but today they were half price so DH bought four packs, so we have sixteen wooden hangers for £4 :T.
It's really nice having a day off, as I feel like I need one
