Re-Mortgaging with Family

Hello all,


I'm just looking for some advice, what difference does it make if you are looking to remortgage a house on your own but you have other family members living in the house with you (such as a brother, his mrs and their 2 kids?)


This isn't the case at the minute but is something that I may look at in future to support them and then I will eventually look to get another property for me.

1. If I live there and they do, what difference would that make to the mortgage
2. If I went ahead and then I moved out, but they continued to live there, what difference would this make to the mortgage, as they would live there without me but wouldn't own or rent the house?

If you are buying a property on your own you can have your family move in and stay with you after you have bought the property.
If you are looking at remortgaging a property you already own the mortgage company will ask who is going to live in the property
