Interestingly, if you look at Wikipedia's article on Luddites. the lead summarises black cab drivers to an absolute tee. It could have been written about them.

In the future the equivalent article about cabbies will read:
The Cabbies were a group of drivers in the 21st century who destroyed competitors as a form of protest. The group was protesting the use of software to get around restrictive and protectionist labour practices.[1] Luddites feared that the time spent learning the skills of their craft would go to waste as software would replace their role in the vehicle.

The only significant difference seems to be that there was never an actual real person called Ned Ludd, whereas Sadiq Khan is definitely real, unfortunately.
